Equipment replacement
Air handling unit replacement and duct rework
We put a new air handler into a mechanical room too small to bring the unit in whole, then rebuilt the duct connections to fit it.

Scope of work
- Rigging of new air handling unit into an existing mechanical room
- Coil, filter rack, and fan section assembly in place
- Supply and return duct modifications
- Condensate and hydronic reconnection
- Balancing and commissioning support
Notes
A lot of older mechanical rooms were built before the equipment that goes in them. Often there’s no door big enough to bring a new air handler through in one piece. In that case we order a unit that ships in sections and assemble it inside the room.
The old ducts almost never line up with the new unit, so we build custom transitions to connect them, and we keep the airflow smooth through the bends.
We also leave room for whoever services it next. We check there’s space to pull the filters, the coil and the fan without taking anything else apart.
