Furnace and air conditioning changeout
Isometric drawing of a high-efficiency furnace with supply plenum, trunk duct and flue

Scope of work

  • Removal of existing furnace and condenser
  • High-efficiency furnace installation
  • Condenser and evaporator coil replacement
  • New line set and condensate routing
  • Combustion venting and startup

Notes

When a system gets replaced with the same size unit every time, it usually ends up too big. Nobody ever checks it against the house as it is now, with new windows, added insulation and a finished basement.

When we do a proper load calculation, the house often needs a smaller unit than what was there. The right size runs longer, quieter cycles, controls humidity better, and lasts longer.

An oversized unit hits the temperature on the thermostat fast and shuts off before it’s pulled the moisture out of the air. The house ends up cold and clammy.

We also check the refrigerant lines, the wiring and the condensate drain against the new equipment, so the install doesn’t run into problems the old unit was hiding.
