Notes
Replacing rooftop units on a building that stays open is mostly a scheduling job. We split the roof into zones, and each unit comes off, goes on and gets reconnected in the same day, so nobody downstairs loses heating or cooling overnight.
We use curb adapters so the new units sit on the existing roof openings. That way the roof doesn’t have to be cut and reframed, and the roofing work stays small.
The crane is booked first and everything else is planned around it. We sort out street closures, tenant notices and access with the building ahead of time. A unit that can’t be lifted on the day doesn’t get removed.
